ABOUT & TEAM
Abella Built is not a startup. It is the continuation of a Tampa legacy forged through five generations of craftsmen and three generations of City of Tampa firefighters — a family whose work helped shape Tampa’s earliest luxury neighborhoods and historic landmarks, including the Tampa Cuban Club.
The business began in 2001 under David Abella & Sons Home Improvement, Inc., publicly known today as Abella & Sons Roofing. For more than 30 years, the Abella name has stood for protection, durability, and doing the work the right way — even when no one is watching.
Today, that legacy continues through Abella Built, co-founded by Vincent Abella and his wife Abby Abella, operating alongside Abella & Sons Roofing as sister companies. Together, they represent two divisions of the same philosophy:
Abella & Sons Roofing — protection-first roofing rooted in firefighter discipline and veteran values
Abella Built — luxury remodeling, structural construction, and modern residential & commercial builds engineered above code
This is not volume construction. This is quiet luxury, designed for inheritance.
Vincent’s brother Deputy David Abella gave his life in the line of duty protecting Florida families. He is one of only nine Tampa sheriffs honored annually for ultimate sacrifice, with memorials throughout the city.
David’s spirit is sewn into everything Abella Built does.
To honor his legacy, 10% of all profits from Abella Built projects are donated through The Abella Shield Foundation — dedicated to protecting Florida families’ ability to own homes as institutional investors and conglomerates increasingly price them out.
